Get Your Books in Order…

So it’s that time of year and I am trying to sort out my expenses, my incomings, outgoings and toe throwing. Well forget the toe throwing, it was quite sore and I found out it had absolutely no impact on my books what so ever!!

I found this article today and think it will be of interest to anyone else who hasn’t a clue what to do with all the receipts and numbers.

Have a look at Design Sponges take here

A Bookworms Home…

Okay I have been a little slack on the blogging since my return from Santiago, I could use my sore feet as an excuse I haven’t written with them for a least a year now so no one would believe me!

Anyway saw this in my emails this morning. Its a brilliant idea, kind of like a sophisticated pop up book, a pop up book for adults as oppose to an adult pop up book which would be something different altogether!

It based on a concept by Olafur Eliasson and is an interiors book with a difference. You can look at the site here

And I Would Walk 500 Miles…

This is a rushed post as my head is all over the place at the moment, found it hanging off my elbow two minutes ago. Anyway, as I said I’m off. I’ll be walking the Camino in the north of Spain for four weeks then one week to find new feet then home. I won’t have my computer as its a little on the heavy side.

I think I have let all my regulars know but if anyone needs new work done, please wait. I’ll be back the 11th of August.

New Work…Darragh Byrne Video

Darragh Byrne came to me before embarking on his solo project of going it alone. He was full of brilliant ideas and had a clear notion of where he wanted to go with the design. Saul Bass and Apertures were keywords floated in our first meeting and the job went smoothly from there.

Check out his Saul Bass branding above and the similarly inspired website here

Darragh is a really talented videographer, his style is pretty intimate and informal so if anyone is looking for a wedding, corporate or documentary video made please check him out!

New Work…Paddy’s O’Granola

Paddy’s O”Granola is an Irish company making great shakes in the world of Granola. Paddy O’Connell came to me with a good idea of what he wanted, something smart and a little quirky. Quirky’s my favourite word (along with elephant) and so I enjoyed working on this job.

Check out Paddys site at www.granola.ie

Paddy’s delicious breakfast (or anytime of the day) granola is available in supermarkets across the country so check out his stockists page for details!

New Work…Kilkenny Farmhouses

Kilkenny Farmhouses is a collective of five B&B’s in Kilkenny that are marketing under the one banner. They were great fun to work with and I spent a few days gathered round Gretta’s kitchen table full of homemade scones, drinking truck loads of tea and discussing the project with the five ladies.

They wanted a country feel to their branding but also an element of fun. Everyone was delighted with the end result and fingers crossed it works out well for the women of the “Happy Valley.”

On this job I designed the website as the ladies already had Kevin at Fewer Consulting lined up to build it. Check out the website at www.kilkennyfarmhouses.com

The homes are definitely worth a visit if only for the food alone!

Kilkenny Smarter Travel Design

I was walking through town last night and saw my Smarter Travel banners along by the library in Kilkenny. Pretty happy with how they look (if I do say so myself!!) I went back this morning and took a few pics above.

Smarter Travel is a great initiative designed to make people think about the way they travel. This Saturday the 25th of June a family day is being run in Kilkenny with lots of activities to entice people off the couch and out of their cars.

Take a Peek at My New House…

Okay so it’s not mine but it will be someday, someday when I have money coming out of my ears and I fancy living off the coast of Scotland. I haven’t blogged in a while so when I saw this beautiful house within a house I thought it was more than worthy of a mention. It’s a renovation job on the small island of Coll off the coast of Scotland, have a look at the pictures, they speak for themselves.

So now that I’ve found the manor of my dreams, all I have to do to fulfill the trinity is find the money and the man. Simple!
